{"id":191,"date":"2014-03-26T20:26:14","date_gmt":"2014-03-27T04:26:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kimchi.greyduck.net\/?p=191"},"modified":"2014-03-26T20:26:14","modified_gmt":"2014-03-27T04:26:14","slug":"songwriters-beware","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asthekimchiturns.net\/?p=191","title":{"rendered":"Songwriters beware&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As a singer, I appreciate songwriters.\u00a0\u00a0 While anyone can make a song, I hum all sorts of things,\u00a0\u00a0 crafting a good song that others will actually want to listen to is not so easy.\u00a0\u00a0 Songs often carry a musical signature that identifies the author of the song.\u00a0\u00a0 Everyone knows a John Williams piece when they hear it.\u00a0\u00a0 Taylor Swift also has a sound you can&#8217;t miss.\u00a0 Madonna and Micheal Jackson also have signature sounds.\u00a0\u00a0 As I become more familiar with Kpop, I&#8217;m starting to hear those similarities as well.\u00a0\u00a0 Some are more glaring then others.\u00a0\u00a0 The idea of this post started when I heard\u00a0 Speed&#8217;s new tune,\u00a0 Don&#8217;t Tease Me produced by Shinsadong Tiger.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"SPEED \uc2a4\ud53c\ub4dc - &#039;\ub180\ub9ac\ub7ec \uac04\ub2e4(Don&#039;t tease me!)&#039;_\uc548\ubb34\uc601\uc0c1\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/aSb4OnUmEug?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>When I heard, I loved it.\u00a0 I loved the beat and the tone of the song.\u00a0 However there was something very familiar about this song.\u00a0\u00a0 I couldn&#8217;t place it but I was getting flashes of something else and it took me a few hours to place it.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I finally had a memory flash strong enough to remember that the chorus sounded strongly like a part in Block B&#8217;s NalinA sung specifically by P.O.\u00a0\u00a0 Take a listen and see if you can hear it.\u00a0 Start the video at 1:00.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"[MV] BlockB (\ube14\ub77d\ube44) | \ub09c\ub9ac\ub098 (NanrinA)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/yiMntBGX-6c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I knew Speed wasn&#8217;t copying their sound so that could only mean the songwriter\/producer had to be the same.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 While I couldn&#8217;t find anything concrete that said Tiger worked on both,\u00a0 if you pay attention to the first minute of the Block B video, you&#8217;ll see one of the &#8220;team&#8221; names is &#8220;team tiger&#8221;.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Between that and the similarities of the songs,\u00a0 I&#8217;m going on a limb to say its the same guy.<\/p>\n<p>Songwriters will let many groups use their music, and that&#8217;s great for them.\u00a0 Just watch out when the songs sound the same.\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;ve already seen a few comments where people were talking about copycat sounds and that&#8217;s not the groups fault nor the songwriters fault.\u00a0\u00a0 Just something to keep in mind.<\/p>\n<p>As a bonus, I&#8217;m including a link to the stunt practice Speed took part in so they could do the more amazing stunts in this dance.\u00a0 These kids have some skills.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"SPEED - superman jump rope&amp;swan practice\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H0QXQgkF9-w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
